We just enjoyed a very fun visit from Mama and Lisa! It was Lisa's spring break and she gave plasma to pay for her plane ticket! We were so excited, we've missed her so much! And she really
couldn't wait to come see Brooke. Most of the following pictures will include the little bumpkin.
They flew in Friday night and we didn't get to bed 'til 2AM, so we slept in the next morning and then Lisa and I went on a run (thanks for running my pace Lis). Then we all went to an early dinner at Nakato, one of those Japanese restaurants where the chef cooks the meal in front of you.

Then we took Lisa around uptown --

Somehow I always forget its going to be colder at night and don't bring enough warm things for Brooke :( Luckily she has a daddy that keeps her warm.

We also went to REI and got groceries for our camping trip! But before camping we went to church -

- and changed into some cute camo outfits Aunt Lisa got us!

Brooke was ready to take a ride in her backpack, she can hold her head up very well now (thanks Leeann and John for the backpack!).

We went to South Mountains State Park, and the nice ranger ladies at the park office were
very concerned we were going to backpack in with a baby instead of drive-up camp ("Are you sure you don't want to be in the family campsite?"). Kevin assured them we were experienced backpackers. From their remarks I expected a little more primitive campsites - but after hiking an easy peasy 1.7 miles, we found our campsite equipped with outhouse, picnic table, trash can, and pre-cut firewood. If only those ladies knew
what Lisa, Kevin, Eric, and I have really done. Seems backpacking over spring break has become a tradition!
Don't worry - we put her arms down in and made her comfortable. Just had to snap pictures first, so cute!

Even though the hike and camping were not so hardcore it was still way great to be out there - Grandma (feels wierd to call her that still) had her first backpacking experience and Brooke her first camping trip!

Kate made Brooke this adorable hat for Christmas and it was perfect, thanks Aunt Kate!

Kev and Lisa went fishing a couple times,

and had some fun in camp too.

Brooke slept with her daddy both nights, and slept through the night! She is getting so big.

On Monday we hiked to High Shoals Falls and Brooke slept the whole time.

Exhausted from sleeping through the hike:

Monday night it rained pretty much all night and we all hung out in the tent together before we fell asleep. Brooke is very entertaining you know.

The next morning it was bright and sunny again and we took our time packing up. Brooke double checked to not forget her ducky.

We drove straight to Firehouse Subs (also quickly becoming a tradition), and after showering and a few zzz's for some of us, we went to my soccer game! I joined
Charlotte Women's Soccer League, and this was our second game. Its way fun to play again, even though our team has lost both games so far :) I have two big bruises, one from each game.

We played hard and got little sleep, and the visit still seemed too short. Brooke says thanks Grandma and Aunt Lisa for coming to see me:

And Kev and I say thanks for coming camping Mom and thanks for working so hard to get here Lisa!! You are my most favorite in-laws ;).
